We’re back with our 5 top Kickstarter wallet projects we believe you should back this month! The Kickstarter projects are presented in no specific order.

What a diverse month it was on the Kickstarter platform for the wallet universe! A variety of different kind of wallets in different materials, which is very excited in our opinion. From the traditional card holder to wallets with stone as material or a wooden plate. Some of the projects didn’t make the cut this month, but there was so much choice! We had the luxury to choose those wallets that really suited the slim and minimalist wallet universe we create here as well as those wallets that were unique to our opinion.

Here we go!

1. MARK BIFOLD – MODEST MARK

The best minimalist bifold slim wallet ever!

This is the classic bifold wallet reinvented. All your essential features packed in one premium wallet with RFID protection on one side. The Modest Mark brand has already had some successful Kickstarter projects, like their Mark cardholder wallet. Then it occurred to the creators of Modest Mark that they didn’t perfected the bifold yet. They wanted to make a wallet that is functional yet practical to carry everywhere you go.

The Mark Bifold is extremely thin (although I didn’t find any measurements on their Kickstarter page) and is partially RFID protected, so you can still use the wallet for your cards that need to be scanned.

The wallet has one front card slot and one in the back. The rest of the cards you can store on the inside. V-shaped/triangle cut outs help you to extract the cards, like the Tsuki card holder by A-Slim. The exact amount of cards it can hold isn’t mentioned on the Kickstarter page.

The bifold wallet contains also a coin pocket and a cash flap, where you can store bills behind. On the flap there are also two SIM or Micro SD card slots integrated.

As an add-on you can also order the Walkie Pen. The creators work together with Sanpo, a Japanese company which specializes in making these ultra slim pens.

The wallet is available in three materials: a canvas fabric, Crazy Horse Leather and Nappa Leather. The polyester canvas is extremely strong and very durable, along the creators. The Crazy Horse Leather creates a lovely patina over the course of using the wallet. The Nappa Leather is very soft yet durable at the same time. It exudes a stylish, classy and sleek look. The wallet is available in 4 colors: Black, British Green, Crazy Horse and Nappa Black.

2. CASCADE LEATHER WALLET – ÖGON DESIGNS

Pay fast with style!

The Cascade leather wallet is the must-have minimalist wallet that combines capacity, security, accessibility and style. With a push of your thumb, you have a quick and easy card access.

The wallet offers room for 6 cards. But you can also store additional cards, receipts and cash in the leather compartment. Thanks to the metal case, your cards will not bend and the case also protects it against wireless skimming or identity theft, thanks to the RFID protection.

The case is made from aluminum and the leather cover from the highest quality leather. It has a very functional and sophisticated design.

The measurements are 9.7 x 6.8 cm (3.8 x 2.6 inches) and weighs only 74 gr (2.6 oz).

The card holder is available in 6 leathers. There is the premium edition in black, orange, blaster and dark brown, and there’s also a luxury edition in carbon and croco.

If the project reaches the 50K goal on Kickstarter, they will develop a version with a coin pocket.

I think it’s a great looking product. The only remark I have is that it is very similar to SECRID wallets, like the system and the design.

3. TROVE SWIFT – TROVE

The ultimate slim wallet just got a little better.

It’s already three years ago that the TROVE wallet was launched on Kickstarter. As this was very successful, the brand decided to return to Kickstarter to launch their new wallet. They wanted to design a new wallet that kept the minimalist design whilst adding useful functionality. Let’s introduce the Trove 2.0: The Swift.

The first feature they added to the wallet was a pull-tab. They tested different materials and tabs and that resulted in a polyester ribbon with a metal tab.

The card holder can hold up to 10 cards while maintaining slim and compact. The wallet can also contain cash, coins and even keys.

The wallet will be available in 6 colors to start off: black, red, grey, light blue, yellow and navy. Other colors will be released if the project reaches a certain goal: green (£15,000), burgundy (£20,000), orange (£25,000) and purple (£30,000).

With 27 days to go, you can still back this project! They already reached 192% of their initial £10,000 goal so this project is certainly happening.

4. FRONT POCKET TRAVEL WALLET – SERMAN BRANDS

Experience the minimalist smart travel wallet!

This wallet is a blend of organization and style compacted into one minimalist wallet. The wallet is ideal for a trip overseas as well for a day in the office.

The leather travel wallet is available in 6 colors: California Desert, Texas Brown, Royal Blue, Army Green, Jet Black and Titanium Gray.

The wallet is very thin with only 0.5 inches or 1.27 cm. It can contain up to 8-10 cards and is RFID protected, so all your data is safely stored away.

Your cards are easily accessible thanks to the pull-tab, and there’s also a separate easy access slot for your most used card. In this slot you can also store your bills.

On the inside there’s also a convenient ID window as well as additional card/bill slots.

5. THE SHMEER™ WALLET – SHMEER CO

Made of elastic silicone, cork and cane sugar bioplastic.

As the wallets get thinner and slimmer, we lost functionality in our everyday carry wallets. Hence the creators of SHMEER, created a wallet that has all the functionality needed, while still maintaining a slim silhouette.

The functionality that the SHMEER offers ain’t opening, closing, pulling or snapping, but, hence the name, “schmearing” your cards out of your card holder. The holder can keep up to 20 plastic cards or 16 plastic cards and 6 business cards. The magnetic strap keeps everything in place, locking down by default and releasing on cue.

The business cards won’t get crinkled or bent thanks to the hard compartment especially designed for them.

The rear compartment is a through pocket that can hold up to 8 cards. The wallet isn’t RFID protected by default, but thanks to the SHMEER™ RFID blocking card (add it to your wallet while backing the project) the wallet can be protected at any time.

In this compartment you can also store your cash. Plus there’s also a tiny pocket for the little stuff like trackers, coins and keys.

A special feature of this project is the possibility to send them your used socks, which they will turn into a SHMEER wallet on request!

The traditional SHMEER™ wallet is made of a silicone fabric, it’s tough and durable! The non-elastic element of the fabric selection is Portuguese cork. Instead of being glued it’s attached to a layer of durable organic cotton. The plastic components are made of cane sugar polyethylene bioplastic, a 100% bio-based material.
