A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon this brand by cowboy Mr. Lentz. I scrolled through the website and discovered their beautiful and manly products. They sell bifolds, trifolds, card holders, but also bags and leather accessories.
Design
The wallet arrived with only a paper strip around it and a free tin of leather conditioner. On the paper strip you’ll see the logo and tagline and some product information on the back. It suits the no fuss style of this brand.
The trifold wallet seems rather slim. Especially being a trifold, these are often thick and plump. So I’m pleasantly surprised by the size of this wallet. It looks very clean and minimal, which is also a plus! When you actually open the wallet you see it is created out of one piece of leather that’s been folded and closed by four pins on the ends. The structure is enhanced by the three card slot compartments on the inside.
Quality & Finish
Mr. Lentz uses full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather. The leather feels very qualitative, supple, but sturdy. The cutting is very neat and precise.
This leather will need some breaking in, so it will age perfectly and develop a rich patina. It will also get softer over the years. You can keep your wallet in good shape with the free tin of leather conditioner provided.
Storage Capacity
The trifold can store up to 9 credit cards, i.e. 3 cards per slot. That’s a very decent amount of cards that can be stored. Behind the card flaps, there is plenty of room for bills, receipts and other notes. Normally trifold have much more storage capacity, but off course if you want your wallet to stay slim, it’s best to reduce the clutter you’re carrying along in your back pocket!
Features
The main feature is the usage of one piece of leather to create this intricate product. Solely four pins hold the wallet double folded.
Each product also contains a unique sequentially stamped number. So you know your wallet is number so-and-so. Very appealing in this time of customization and hand work. Final verdict
This is a wallet for people who are into trifolds, but don’t need the unnecessary storage. For the guy who wants a stylish, handmade product, that has a proud story behind it. For $70 this is a reasonably priced product!
