Machete Bifold Wallet by A-Slim Review

The classic bifold with a twist!

Some time ago I reviewed the Tsuki card holder and the Yaiba card holder by A-Slim. Now I’ve got a new exclusive sample from the London based brand of their model Machete. The Machete is already available in the bold colors A-Slim is known for, but if you read on you’ll be up for a nice surprise!

Design

The Machete wallet comes in the usual, very attractive packaging from A-Slim: i.e. the leather sleeve in the form of a briefcase and the smaller purple sleeve inside with a booklet with additional brand and product information.

The bifold wallet Machete is a small wallet which measures only 8.4 x 10.5 cm. Empty it stays under 1cm thickness (or slimness if you like!). It’s a typical bifold wallet when closed, but when you open it you’ll find four vertical card slots. The edge of the slots have a wide V-shape.

The material used is a leather with crocoprint on it. This is very nice and adds to the luxurious image of the brand and the product.

Inside there’s also a bill compartment, lined with a paisley motif fabric. This is very nice and adds to the luxurious feeling when using the Machete wallet.

Quality & Finish

As usual the wallet is impeccably finished. I don’t see any loose threads or defaults on the wallet. The leather feels very qualitative and supple. It has a nice feeling when holding it in my hand.

Storage Capacity

The bifold wallet can hold up to eight cards and several bills. That’s a good amount of storage seen the size of the wallet.

Features

The main feature of this wallet is the croco print. This is very appealing and luxurious.

The wallet is also RFID protected. So you and your data are securely protected against RFID skimming. This wallet is stylish and secure!

Usability

Thanks to the shape of the card slots on the inside, it’s very easy to take the cards out of the wallet. When the cards are tucked away it’s a very stylish accent on the inside.

Innovation

The innovation for this wallet it’s the unusual print of crocodile skin that’s used. It’s reminiscent to a time of decadence and opulence. This is also enhanced by the paisley motif on the inside of the bill compartment. You feel like using an expensive and exclusive product for a very reasonable price.

Final verdict

If you’re looking for a classic, traditional wallet, but you don’t want a boing black or brown bifold, then the Machete is the one for you! On the outside it’s a classic bifold wallet, but when you open it, you see the stylish accents that will delight you. The usage of the material and the lining only enhances this feeling. If you don’t like crocoprint, the Machete is also available in the bold color range from A-Slim. So pick your color and enjoy this wallet (and life) to the fullest!
